These dudes, the 'murky political class' are not merely a 'a pack of wolves' lurking to whom they may devour, but also a 'pack of vultures' gulping on the remains left previously by different 'the pack of wolves' (of all colors and 'tamaños' and gender). (The longest Riddle, yes indeed, the longest “Riddle” in memory in our life time that could turn out to be the greatest nightmare in memory in our life time for it seemed that no one in the ‘house’ can go to sleep, that necessary and well deserved night rest for these four members of the ‘familia/family’ after putting up with the ‘big baby boy’ all day. At last, like a miracle just happened, at midnight the ‘rabietas/tantrums’ suddenly stopped. All in the ‘familia/family’ fell asleep in the ‘big baby boy’s room, but behold, except one, and guess who? ‘Sigilosamente/stealthily’ while the rest of the ‘familia/family’ were soundly at sleep, ‘big baby boy’ only wearing big ‘pañales/diapers’ dragged himself and made it down the ‘escaleras/stairs’ to the big ‘familia/family’ room ‘genuinamente/genuinely’ concerned with Midas, and after picking Midas up the ‘big baby boy’ placed Midas on his right broad shoulder. Something curious was noticed by ‘big baby boy’; Midas was running, as if Midas was in a marathon, from the right shoulder to the left shoulder back and forth without taking a break.
THE EARLY MORNING DAWN was sneaking in through a window of the ‘big baby boy’s room: Mama woke up first and looking around exclaimed in panic: Holy Cow! That woke up papa next and looking around exclaimed in panic as well: Holy Macaroni! That woke up grandma next and looking around exclaimed in terror: Holy Ham! That woke up the last but not least of the ‘familia/family’ that were ‘roncando/snoring’ the night away in the ‘big baby boy’s room: Grandpa! Looking around as well exclaimed ‘aterrorizado/terrorized’: ¡Santo/Holy Jamón Serrano!
THE ‘BIG BABY BOY’ kept busy all during the night, down and up and up and down all through the house. ‘Big baby boy’s room was a total mess and the walls were painted with vivid “red crayon” showing different figures, one of them seemed to look like a giant ‘pantano/swamp’ and coming out of it fumes and vapors that undoubtedly looked toxic. Next to it a house illuminated with many colors as if it was the ‘Arco Iris/Rainbow’. On the ‘west wall’ could be read several very strange writings on the wall: ‘Compassionate Conservatism’ followed by ‘No Child Left Behind’ and what followed that was even more strange: ‘Partners in Crime’, ‘Hope & Change’ and ending with a musical note, a cantata: ♪♪♪Nobody does it better♪♪♪ ♪♪♪Makes him feel sad for the rest♪♪♪ ♪♪♪Nobody does it half as good as me♪♪♪ ♪♪♪Baby, I’m the best♪♪♪
It is like a ‘riddle within a riddle’, who could be able to ‘descifrar/decipher’ it, these ‘writings on the wall of ‘big baby boy’s room? ‘Seguridad Casa del Campo’? ‘Centro Internacional of Ashes’, CIA? Nada Seguro Agencia’, NSA?
FINALLY the four, mama, papa, grandma and grandpa, encouraging one another came out of the ‘big baby boy’s room to the upper hallway approaching ‘sigilosamente/stealthily’ the ‘escaleras/stairs’. One behind the other in a line with their hands on the shoulders of the one in front, as if for protection, for they were not dancing the conga, but in reality they looked pathetic, a pathetic chain of terrorized individuals. The line was headed by the most ‘valiente/brave’ of the group: Grandma! They came down the stairs ever so carefully probing every step of the way down for booby traps, but mercifully there were none. When they reached the bottom step and looked around the ample main living room of the house, their mouths opened slowly to the max, and their eyes opened as well as if they were ‘búhos/owls’ and round as a ‘fake coin pence’; the four of them, grandma, mama, grandpa and papa (that was the order of the human chain, the line, as they approached the ample main living room of the house) screamed in unison: That’s our ‘big baby boy’!
‘BIG BABY BOY’ was found by the astonished four, grandma, mama, grandpa and papa, the unwavering and faithful members of ‘La Familia/Family’, that no matter what ‘big baby boy’ does, he has their support, for there is a season, and a time to pluck up that which is planted, and a time to break down, a time to weep, a time to mourn, a time to cast away stones, a time to rend (Ecclesiastes 3), he was found laying down in the middle of the living room and on the carpet snoring his dreams away peacefully with a thumb in his mouth, while Midas’s head rested on one of the ‘big baby boy’s toe.
Utter destruction surrounded the sleeping ‘big baby boy’ except for the ‘walls’ that somehow, maybe miraculously, were spared so damning a destruction as if left intact for the purpose of sending a message of what might come next. The entire house was in such ‘hecatombe’, and no room was spared again except the walls, as if it was a skeleton of what it once was, a prosperous and gilded dwelling place of the privileged and some of the servants, a real mansion that no longer was.
IT SEEMED as if a Hurricane or a big Twister from within had imploded. And from without, the house looked as if nothing had happened inside, with the expansive ground’s green turf well manicured, and the beds of beautiful flowers everywhere including a Rose Garden. A House all painted in White as a sign of purity left by the Puritans on an early arrival from the old side of the great divide, the Great Wall of Water that is the Atlantic Ocean separating the “Old World” from the “New World”, or so it was told.
